    A Luddless Marriage

The winner of the Lord Mayor's Prize for Composition in 2013 was Mr Robert Busiakiewicz and his 8 minute piece for organ, entitled A Luddless Marriage.

The premiere performance of the composition was by Mr Jonathan Scott at Mansion House on 13th September 2013. He played the piece on the Manders' Chamber Organ that had been commissioned by the City of London Corporation and was subsequently presented to Her Majesty The Queen. The Lord Mayor, Sir Roger Gifford, hosted the evening and presented the prize alongside the Master, Mr John Morehen.

Robert Busiakiewicz (shown right) was musically educated in Vienna, Stratford and King's College Cambridge, where he was a choral scholar. He taught harmony, counterpoint and orchestration at Kings College London, has given choral masterclasses at Eton College and has worked in many choral Outreach programmes through schools and colleges.
