1904 Cart Prize: May Dawson - A Cycle of Three Songs

This composition by Miss May Dawson LRAM, was awarded a Henry Cart Prize of £21. The piece comprises Three Songs "In Praise of Music". The first, called How Sweet The Moonlight Sleeps Upon This Bank, with words by William Shakespeare taken from The Merchant Of Venice. The second song with words by Robert Herrick, is called To Music. The final part of the Cycle is called Music In The Air and has words by 'Corinna'.
