    Royal Marines Side Drum

Here are images of the antique Royal Marines side-drum presented to the Company by Lieutenant Colonel Sir (Francis) Vivian Dunn, KCVO, OBE (1908-1995), to mark the conclusion of his year as Master (1988/9).

He was a Director of Music of the Royal Marines from 1931 until his retirement in 1968. He was a founding member of the BBC Orchestra and the first Military Musician to become Master of the Musicians' Company.
