    Portrait - St Cecilia

    The Portrait of St. Cecilia

    The Musicians' Company Archive Project

This batik depiction of St Cecilia, the Patron Saint of Music, was given to the Company by Pastmaster Peter Fowler on the day of his Installation ceremony - 9 November 2005.

The artwork was commissioned from Ivor Magee, a former teacher and, more recently, freelance artist. Batik is a technique that developed in Java many centuries ago.
