1904 Cart Prize: Herbert Walter Wareing - Part Song

This composition, called Phoebe, is a Song for 4 voices (SATB) based on words by Thomas Lodge (1557-1625). Composed by Herbert Walter Wareing, Mus Doc (Cantab), (1857-1918), an organist and composer, it was awarded a £10 Henry Cart Prize in 1904. It is possible that this copy was made by the Company (to be held) before the original submission was returned to the composer or sent to the Publisher.
