Established in 1969 and endowed by Sir Edward Lewis in memory of his wife. The fund sponsors concerts by young musicians at advanced or post-student level in recognised concert halls, providing 'live' training in platform technique to a paying audience. A link with the The Concordia Foundation existed from 2017 until the Foundation's closure in 2021. In 2025, the awards were renamed Concordia Gillian Humphreys OBE Singer's Prize, Concordia William Barthel Prize (for instrumentalists) and Concordia Serena Nevill Prize (for accompanists).
